My name is Ethan. I'm 14 years old. I've roamed around newgrounds since I was in the 3rd grade (I remember seeing a winter theme in December 2007) but I never made an account until 3 days ago. I'm teaching myself how to make animations in flash since December last year with tutorials from youtube, because the lessons I was originally planning to take won't be available until February 2013. I got a tablet yesterday and it was hard to use at first, but now it's really easy if I just look at the screen, not the tablet. I began making animations sometime between 3rd and 4th grade using MS paint and Windows Movie maker. My friend had told me he figured out how to make lego stopmotions, so I started making them, and soon messed around with MS Paint and thought to myself, "hey, If I just move this picture a little, I can make a cartoon, like my lego movies!" At the time I only made shorts of video game characters dying and peeing on each other and stuff. I never made and actual short cartoons until I saw geoweasel. That was what inspired me to make a little cartoon series I had, even though most of the "episodes" I had were just drawn in my notebook during math class. This was 2009. I had 3 little characters (one of which I still occasionally use) called Julius, Drake and Fred. Julius was the main protagonist of the series, Drake was his friend, and Fred was the dumb guy. (Hmm, I sure wonder where I got Fred from...) I made these characters until sometime in 6th grade, when I started to become interested in actual movie making. That was sometime in 2010-2011 when I was expirementing with the special effects in Sony Vegas 10, and I would talk to my clone and use a blanket at my green screen and stuff. It eventually just became something I did when I got bored, so I went back to lego (and clay) stop motions. Then in November, 2011, I discovered eddsworld, and a month later (close to Christmas) I wanted to make cartoons like Edd, so I downloaded a trial of Flash CS5.5 and made a lot of cool stuff with it but no sound. sometime around the end of January, my trial expired. I didn't buy it until the next month or so.... Those were dark times... But anyway I had saved up enough amazon gift money to buy myself The student/teacher edition of flash, and after I proved to them I was a kid and went to school and stuff, I started making movies again! I haven't really improved much since then, but I think that if I just keep working on my projects (and someone teaches me how to make a play button) I'll do better and maybe even really get my work out there!
